Candle Review: Yankee Crackling Candle

It may be August, but no one has told the weather that here in the GTA. That combined with the back to school season means that fall items have hit the stores and I love it!

Fall is one of my favourite seasons (second only to Christmas) and I love the scents that come with it. I like sweet and spicy scents, anything warm that makes you feel cozy. I tend to be pretty loyal to Bath and Body Works candles but thought I'd try something new.

Overall my rating would be "meh" with a shoulder shrug. There isn't anything overly wrong with the candle, it just didn't meet my expectations, and for a $30 candle I wanted a bit more.

I love the glass holder and the fact that there is no label on the glass, it looks less cluttered. I also like that it burns at a good pace and evenly.

I was really excited about the crackling feature but it is really really subtle (almost burn your hair/ear as you lean in to hear it subtle). This was disappointing as I love the sound of a birch branch on the fire and thought a wood wick would offer that.

The shape of the holder is pretty but makes it hard to cut the wick (I wish I had got the pretty wick trimmers the store sold). I like the scent but find it can get strong over time.

Has anyone had a wood wick candle that you can hear?
